I’ve enjoyed and admired Bruce Lee since I was a child. The intensity of his movements was electric and the command of his body and his presence were unparalleled.
I found Jeet Kune Do through a long time friend at the start of 2012. I was hooked from the start! I spent most of my life as a percussionist so the “Always Think HIT” philosophy of JKD fit my personality perfectly.
I enjoy the simplicity, efficiency and hit based philosophy of JKD as well as the athleticism and exploration of dynamic movements found in the art. My training has allowed me to form a broad spectrum understanding of the human body and its capabilities.
Martial arts have made me a better person, a better father, and have helped to guide my life in a positive direction. My goal is to add positivity to your life every time you come to class and motivate you to reach your full potential physically, mentally and spiritually.

I grew up on stories of dragons, warriors and heroes, and in all of them I imagined myself fighting on the front lines, swinging a sword. At one point I wanted to be the first female Navy SEAL, but then I grew up and realized that even though that is not practical or within my grasp I can still be a warrior in other ways. Martial Arts has helped me to discover my place in the world and given me the gift of connecting and serving people
As a mother of daughters, I want to be a good example to them and I understand the importance of confidence and strength within yourself. I want my girls, and every person that I come into contact with to know that those traits exist within them and help them to locate and become comfortable with them. As a small female I understand that how you present yourself makes a difference in how you are perceived, if you walk as if you are tall and strong, with confidence, the way you view the world changes and the lens that others view you through adjusts as well.
My greatest joy comes from watching people find strength, confidence and courage within themselves, not just to fight the dragons in their imaginations but the everyday dragons of life that we all face. To watch them discover new skills, the joy that lights up their face when they ask their body to learn something new and difficult and the satisfaction when they push for something that they didn’t think they could achieve.
